EDISON, NJ – Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) basketball schedule is in full swing as non-conference play heads into the final weeks of December with conference play around the corner in the New Year.
In men’s basketball news, Siena picked up two big wins over Hofstra and cross-town rival Albany to take back the Albany Cup Trophy to Loudonville. Brett Bisping led the Saints with an average of 18 points and 12 rebounds to earn MAAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors. Monmouth defeated Wagner College 73-54 in front of a sold out crowd in the Hawks first home game of the season. Rider earned an 82-72 win at Charleston Southern University for its second win of the season. This week, the notable matchups are:

· Iona versus Texas Southern on Wednesday, December 16 at 7:00 p.m.

· Rider at Providence on Saturday, December 19 at 8:00 p.m. on Fox Sports Network
· Monmouth at Rutgers on Sunday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m.

In women’s basketball news, Marist knocked off Boston University to earn its first non-conference win of the season. The Red Foxes were led by MAAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, Sydney Coffey, who scored a game-high 23 points in the victory. This week, the notable matchups are:
