Siena's Tara Sobierajski Named All-ECAC First Team

Siena junior back Tara Sobierajski (Rockaway, N.J.) has been named to the 11-member All-East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) First Team, and the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Northeast Region Third Team. Sobierajski played a leading role for a Saints' team that won the 2015 MAAC Championship.
Named a First Team All-MAAC selection for the second straight season in 2015, Sobierajski earns All-ECAC honors for the first time. She was tabbed a Second Team All-MAAC and All-MAAC Rookie Team honoree following her freshman season.
The Rockaway, N.J. native played all 2,040 of the Saints' minutes at center back this past fall, and anchored a defensive unit which recorded a program single-season record nine shutouts and posted a team record shutout streak that spanned over 540 minutes.
Named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 26, Sobierajski added 11 points this fall on a pair of game-winning goals to go along with seven assists which ranked third the MAAC.
Sobierajski a seven-match unbeaten streak that culminated in the program's second MAAC Championship -- a 5-2 pasting of Manhattan on November 8.
