Marina Lizarazu shined against a pair of Atlantic-10 opponents; the Gaels took down Saint Joseph's 81-75 on Thursday, Dec. 17 and took A-10 favorite George Washington to the brink before falling 70-65 defeat. Against the Hawks, Lizarazu scored a career-high 25 points on seven of ten shooting from the floor. She was also 10-13 from the free throw line, knocking down each of her ten makes during crunch time of the fourth quarter. On Sunday against the Colonials, Lizarazu recorded five assists and a new career-high eight steals. The eight swipes is the third most in a contest since 2001: Thazina Cook and Lauren DeFalco each had ten in one contest during their careers with the Maroon & Gold. Overall, Marina Lizarazu averaged 15.5 points, 2 rebs, 4.5 assists, 5.5 steals and 38 min/game over the past week.
Rookie of the Week
McKinzee Barker, Monmouth

Barker scored an efficient six points on 3-of-6 shooting and added five rebounds, three assists, three steals and a block at Fairleigh Dickinson on Sunday night. Four of her five rebounds came on the offensive glass. For the season, she’s now averaging 7.4 points, 6.4 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.8 steals per game, while shooting 41.4 percent from the floor. She’s also posted a 2.3 assist-to-turnover ratio.
