Senior Associate AD Brendan Fahey Appointed Member Of The NCAA Women's Water Polo Committee

Indianapolis, IN – Wagner Senior Associate Athletic Director Brendan Fahey has been appointed as a member of the NCAA Women's Water Polo Committee. Fahey's term will begin immediately and run through August 2019.

His responsibilities within the NCAA Women's Water Polo Committee will be overseeing the conduct of the NCAA Championship and playing rules. This includes the seeding of the automatic qualifiers, at large birth and approval of championship site locations and play-in locations.

Fahey will join University of California-Santa Barbara Senior Woman Administrator/Deputy Athletics Director Kelly Barsky, California State University-East Bay head women's water polo coach Lisa Cooper, California Lutheran University Associate Aquatics Director/head water polo coach Craig Rond and Loyola Marymount University head women's water polo coach Kyle Witt on the committee, with NCAA National Coordinator of Officials Dr. Robert Corb and NCAA Water Polo Secretary Rules Editor/Pennsylvania State University-Erie, the Behrend College Director of Athletics Brian Streeter serving in advisory/administrative roles.

Fahey, who has been a member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Water Polo committee since 2011, is in his eighth year at Wagner where he is responsible for all internal and external operations of the Seahawk Athletics Department which includes the department's finances, supervision of corporate marketing, Seahawk Club Development, facility and equipment management, championship events and budgeting and finances for each of Wagner College's 20 varsity sports.

The 2016 NCAA Women's Water Polo Championships will take place at the Spieker Aquatics Complex in Los Angeles, CA from May 13-15.

This appointment comes on the heels of Fahey's 2014-15 term as a Chairperson for the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Committee. Fahey also served on the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Committee from September 2011 to August 2015. During his time on the committee, he was an integral part of the expansion of the championship bracket, increase in championship travel party size allotments, and setting the championship attendance record in May, 2014
