Fairfield
On November 16th, the Fairfield women’s basketball team visited the Wakeman Boys and Girls Club in Southport, Connecticut. The team spent time with young girls talking about the importance of doing well in school and how to balance sports with other commitments. They then took to the court to teach them some short skill drills and finished the night with a friendly game of knockout.
Manhattan
On Sunday, November 15, 2015, thousands of supporters ran through Yankee Stadium to participate in the seventh annual Runyon 5K, a unique fundraising event to support innovative and groundbreaking cancer research. Your reason for running could inspire others to sign up and support the cause. Our Track team as well as other student-athletes either ran in the race, or volunteered with handing out water and manning stations along the route.
Marist
Men’s Lacrosse players Jimmy Murphy and Nye Nick took over organizing the 5th annual flag football tournament. The main goal for the tournament was to raise money for the Edward Taylor Coombs Foundation and give everyone a chance to celebrate and enjoy themselves in an exciting atmosphere. A number of members of the Marist community participated in the event, including the Marist lacrosse teams and baseball team.
