Hetzke Named ECAC Rookie of the Week in Women's Basketball

EDISON, N.J. – Siena College freshman forward Margot Hetzke was named Division I Women’s Basketball Metro/Upstate “Rookie of the Week” by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC).
Hetzke helped the Saints to a pair of wins over Rider and Monmouth last week after averaging 13.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game while shooting 47.6 percent from the field and 50 percent from three-point range. Against Rider, the rookie scored 10 points alongside seven rebounds and tallied 16 points with six rebounds and two blocks against Monmouth.
Hetzke has been named ECAC Rookie of the Week four times and has been chosen as the MAAC Rookie of the Week eight times this season.
The 2014-15 season culminates with the MAAC Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. March 5-9. Tickets can be purchased here.
