Marist Earns National Ranking; Wagner Receives Votes

EDISON, N.J. – The Marist College water polo team received a national ranking this week, tied for the 20th spot with University of the Pacific with 4 votes in this week’s Collegiate Water Polo Association poll. This is the third consecutive week that the Marist team has been nationally ranked this season.
This season the Red Foxes are 3-4 and have victories over a ninth ranked Indiana team, Brown and Sonoma State. Amanda Amarosa currently leads the Red Foxes in goals with 15 on the season (2.14 GPG) and senior goalie Skyler Henry leads the league in saves with 9.43 SPG.
Also in this week’s poll, Wagner College received one vote. The Seahawks are 3-1 this year coming off a sweep this weekend against Harvard and Brown. Junior’s Jess Lundgren and Lily Doerfler rank one and two in the league in goals per game with 5.00 and 3.00 respectfully.
The 2015 MAAC Water Polo Championship will be held on April 25-26 at McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
