Avery, Miller, Wehrli, and Litzell Capture Indoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. – Kate Avery from Iona College is the MAAC Women's Track Performer of the Week. The MAAC Men's Track Performer of the Week is Chartt Miller from Iona College. Lydia Wehrli from Manhattan College is the MAAC Women’s Field Performer of the Week, while Love Litzell from Manhattan College earned the award on the men’s side.

Junior Kate Avery from Iona College is the MAAC Women’s Indoor Track Performer of the Week. Avery finished in sixth place in the 3,000 meter-run at the prestigious Millrose Games at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center. Her time of 8:53.12 established a new Iona school record, breaking her old mark by more than three seconds. Her time moved Avery into third place on the 2015 Indoor Track & Field 3000-meter leaderboard.

The MAAC Men's Indoor Track Performer of the Week is sophomore Chartt Miller from Iona College. At the Iowa State Classic, Miller finished in nineteenth-place in the mile. Miller’s time of 4:05.13 was the second fastest time recorded in the MAAC this indoor season behind only his 4:04.52 performance at the Amory Track Invitational two weeks ago.

Senior Lydia Wehrli from Manhattan College is the MAAC Women’s Indoor Field Performer of the Week. At the Millrose Games, Wehrli finished in eighth place in the weight throw with a toss of 16.98 meters.

The MAAC Men's Indoor Field Performer of the Week is sophomore Love Litzell from Manhattan College. At the Millrose games, Litzell took home fifth place in the weight throw. His toss of 18.55 meters was Litzell’s top throw of the season.

The 2015 MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held this Saturday, February 21st at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in New York, N.Y.
