EDISON, N.J. – Junior Kate Avery from Iona College has been named Corvias ECAC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week in the Metro/Update region. On the Men's side, Iona College freshman Liam Dee has been named ECAC Men's Rookie of the Week in the Division I Metro/Upstate Region.

Fresh off of her selection as MAAC Women's Indoor Track and Field Performer of the Week, Kate Avery has been named Corvias ECAC Women’s Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week. Avery finished in sixth place in the 3,000 meter-run at the prestigious Millrose Games at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center. Her time of 8:53.12 established a new Iona school record, breaking her old mark by more than three seconds. Her time moved Avery into third place on the 2015 Indoor Track & Field 3000-meter leaderboard.

Freshman Liam Dee has been selected as the ECAC Men's Rookie of the Week. Dee finished in 20th place in the very competitive 51-man field at the Iowa State Classic. His time of 4:05.13 was just a fraction of a second behind teammate Chartt Miller.
