Quinnipiac Women's Basketball Clinch Top Seed of 2015 MAAC Basketball Championships

EDISON, N.J. – Quinnipiac University claimed the top seed of the MAAC Women’s basketball Championships Thursday morning. The championships take place March 5-9 at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y.

The Quinnipiac women’s program continued its undefeated conference season by posting an 82-52 win over Saint Peter’s in front of a crowd of over 3,400 on Thursday morning in Hamden, Conn. With the win, Quinnipiac's (24-3, 16-0 MAAC) winning streak hits 14 straight games.

Bobcat forward Val Driscoll recorded her fourth career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds to lead Quinnipiac to the clinching victory. Quinnipiac forward Samantha Guastella also added 13 points and six rebounds, while forward Nikoline Ostergaard added 12 points and eight rebounds.

Quinnipiac, who was the number four seed in the 2014 MAAC women’s basketball championship bracket, made it to the championship game before falling to Marist 70-66.

The 2014-15 season culminates with the MAAC Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. March 5-9. Tickets can be purchased here.
