Monmouth Wins 2015 MAAC Men's Indoor Track & Field Championship

New York, N.Y. - The Monmouth University Men's Track and Field team captured its second straight title at the 2015 MAAC Indoor Track & Field Championship at the New Balance Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
The Hawks won the meet with a score of 220 points. Manhattan finished second with 126 points. Iona finished in third with 90 points. Rider followed in fourth with 85.50 points. Saint Peter’s finished in fifth with 70.50 points. Canisius earned 21 points and Marist followed with nine points.
Blerim Pocesta of Manhattan College was named the Most Outstanding Performer for Field Events. He won the Men’s weight throw with a throw of 19.31 meters. He also came in fourth in the men’s shot put with a throw of 16.10 meters.
Dylan Capwell of Monmouth University was named the Most Outstanding Performer for Track Events. He broke the MAAC 800 meter run with a time of 1:46.82 and was on the first place 4x400 meter relay team who had a time of 3:16.74.
Joe Compagni of Monmouth University was named the 2015 Men’s Coach of the Year.
New meet records include Ahmier Dupree of Monmouth University in the 60 meter dash (6.84), Ben Boyd of Monmouth University in 400 meter dash (47.91), and Jamel Presley of Saint Peter’s in 60 meter hurdles (7.92).
