ALBANY, N.Y. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference attempt to break the Guinness Book of World Records for Knockout at Times Union Center fell short on Saturday, Feb 21.
The MAAC goal was to beat the existing Guinness Book of World Records mark for the most number of people playing Knockout on one date, using one basketball hoop. The record of 629 participants that was set in October at the BarclaysCenter in Brooklyn, New York stands.
Although the conference did not beat the record, the fans that did come out had the opportunity to play several games of Knockout on the Times Union Center floor with MAAC Commissioner Richard Ensor and MAAC Senior Associate Commissioner Barbara Church. The participants also received ticket vouchers to the men’s basketball championship game.
