Player of the Week
Jack Massa, Canisius

Canisius freshman Jack Massa hit .400 (4-for-10) with two doubles, five RBI and three runs scored last week in three games as the Golden Griffins played at Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State. In the Griffs’ 14-3 win over Coastal Carolina Feb. 17, Massa went 4-for-6 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored. He was good for two RBI and a run scored in two games against Appalachian State Feb. 21-22. In the team’s 10-3 win over the Mountaineers on Feb. 22, the Shoreham, N.Y. native reached base twice after being hit-by-pitch, and he also scored a run and drove in a run. For the week, he posted a .500 on-base percentage and a /600 slugging percentage while recording 20 putouts and an assist defensively.
Pitcher of the Week
Chris Napolitano, Marist
Sr., RHP, 6-0. Wall, N.J./St.Rose
On Sunday, Napolitano threw 8.1 scoreless innings of relief against Virginia, ranked #1 in the NCBWA Poll. Napolitano entered the game with the score tied at four, two outs, and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh. He retired the first batter he faced to get out of the jam, and proceeded the hold the Cavaliers scoreless until he left the game following the 15th inning. He threw 104 pitches out of the bullpen, gave up just five hits and three walks, and struck out four.
Rookie of the Week
Ryan Stekl, Canisius
Fr., 1B, 6-3, Lancaster, N.Y./Lancaster
Canisius freshman Ryan Stekl hit .375 (6-for-16) with four RBI and three runs scored last week as the Golden Griffins went 3-1 at Coastal Carolina and Appalachian State. In the team’s 14-3 win over Coastal Carolina Feb. 17, the Lancaster, N.Y. native went 3-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored, and he was good for two hits and a stolen base in the team’s 8-4 loss to Appalachian State Feb. 21. He also had a hit, an RBI and a run scored in the Blue and Gold’s 10-3 win over the Mountaineers Feb. 22. For the week, he posted a .450 on-base percentage and a .375 slugging percentage, and defensively, he was credited with 19 putouts and two fielding assists.
