Hetzke Grabs Fifth ECAC Rookie of the Week Award

EDISON, N.J. – Siena College freshman forward Margot Hetzke was named Division I Women’s Basketball Metro/Upstate “Rookie of the Week” by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC).
Hetzke was instrumental in the Saints’ perfect 2-0 week, averaging team-highs of 17.0 points and 9.0 rebounds. Against Manhattan College, the rookie forward registered her third 20-plus point performance of the season, pouring in 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting. In a win on Saturday over Fairfield University, she recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Hetzke has been named ECAC Rookie of the Week five times and has been chosen as the MAAC Rookie of the Week nine times this season.
The 2014-15 season culminates with the MAAC Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. March 5-9. Tickets can be purchased here.
