Edison, N.J. – Wagner water polo tied for 17th in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) National Top 20 Poll, announced today.

After defeating previously ranked Hartwick, 16-15, on Saturday in front of the home crowd, the Seahawks maintained their 17th ranking, however the University of California-Santa Barbara drew even in the polls as each team received 20 votes.

The squad remains the highest ranked Wagner water polo team in history after back-to-back weeks of attaining the 17th ranking. Prior to the announcements of the last two weeks, the highest ranking for the program was 19th, which they attained on March 20, 2014 after a successful run in last season's Aztec Invitational, hosted by San Diego State University.

The Green & White are 6-2 on the season with notable wins over Long Beach State, Harvard, Hartwick and MAAC rival, Marist, who also recieved one vote in this weeks national poll.

The 2015 MAAC Water Polo Championship will be held on April 25-26 at McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, New York.
