Kayla Hoohuli, Canisius, Women's Basketball, Guard, Sr., St. Mary’s, Pa.
Senior guard Kayla Hoohuli led the Canisius Golden Griffins’ in scoring in a week that saw the Griffs go 1-1 against MAAC opponents. The Griffs defeated MAAC rival Niagara University on Wednesday night and Hoohuli scored a career high 26 points against the Purple Eagles. During her hot-shooting night, Hoohuli also broke the 1,000 point mark in her career for the women’s basketball program at Canisius. Hoohuli is averaging 11.8 PPG, 3.2 RBS and is shooting 40.7 percent from 3-point land this season.
Malcolm Gilbert, Fairfield, Men's Basketball, Center, Sr., Smyrna, Del.
Gilbert has been a regular in the Stags lineup throughout his two years with the program. He has served both as a starter and as a reserve. The center currently ranks among the conference leaders for blocks per game, entering this week averaging 1.2 rejections per game. Gilbert is averaging 1.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per game in his 17 appearances. Gilbert has a 3.23 GPA in accounting.
