Kaczmarek, Ruddy and Dodway Earn ECAC Honors

EDISON, N.J. – Elizabeth Kaczmarek a freshman from Iona College was named Division I Metro/Upstate Women’s Swimmer of the Week. Marist College senior Jason Ruddy was named Division I Metro/Upstate Men’s Co-Swimmer of the Week by the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC). The ECAC also named Marist College junior Josh Dodway Division I Metro/Upstate Men’s Diver of the Week.
Elizabeth Kaczmarek claimed three first place finishes in the 200 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 200 individual medley in the team's victory over conference rival Fairfield. Kaczmarek touched the wall with a time of 1:58.44 in the 200IM freestyle before claiming the 100m freestyle with a time of 54.74 and the 200m individual relay with a time of 2:12.58.
Jason Ruddy took first place in three events during Marist’s 169-125 victory against Binghamton on January 31st in McCann Natatorium. In the butterfly events, he swam 100 yards in 52.73 seconds and 200 yards in 1:56.60 for a pair of wins. He swam the fastest dual meet time in program history in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking in at 1:54.71. Ruddy was also on the first-place 200-yard medley relay team, which finished with a time of 1:36.13, alongside two of his senior classmates.
Josh Dodway placed second on the 1- and 3-meter boards in Marist’s 169-125 win over Binghamton on January 31st. His higher total of 301.12 points came in the 3-meter event. He racked up 276.97 points at one meter.
