Marist and Siena to Play in Women's Basketball Postseason Tournaments

EDISON, N.J. – Marist College and Siena College will represent the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in women’s basketball postseason tournaments. Marist will enter the Women’s National Invitational Tournament (WNIT) and Siena will partake in the Women’s Basketball Invitational (WBI).
The Marist women’s basketball team finished the season 21-11, 15-5 in league play and have earned an automatic berth to the Postseason Women’s National Invitation Tournament. Marist will make it 12 straight postseason appearances under head coach Brian Giorgis when the Red Foxes takes on Temple on Thursday (Mar. 19) in the first round of the 2015 WNIT at 7p.m. EST.
Siena has accepted an invitation to the Women’s Basketball Invitational and will host Stony Brook on Thursday in Loudonville, N.Y. at 7p.m. EST. The Saints (19-12) placed fifth of 11 teams in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, and finished the regular season with the program's most wins in 12 years, while doubling its win total from all of the 2014 season.
The MAAC will host the NCAA Women's Basketball Sweet Sixteen Albany Regional at the Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y. Tickets can be purchased here.
