Courtney Chmil, Fairfield, Women's Lacrosse, Midfielder, Sr., Garden City, N.Y.
Courtney Chmil is a senior captain of our women's lacrosse program. She is the Stags’ third leading scorer, posting seven goals with two assists for nine points. She posted back-to-back hat tricks in Fairfield’s last two contests against New Hampshire and Central Connecticut State. Chmil has started at midfield in all six games for the Stags this year and has recorded 10 ground balls, nine draw controls, and two caused turnovers. She has also excelled in the classroom, posting a 3.43 cumulative GPA as a communications major, to earn recognition on the University's Dean's List
Isaiah Williams, Iona, Men's Basketball, Guard, Jr., Newark, N.J.
Iona College men's basketball junior Isaiah Williams has averaged 13.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.2 blocks per game for the Gaels over 21 games this season. Williams has connected on 51.0% of his attempts from the field, including 45.1% from behind the arc. Prior to the MAAC Championship, Williams returned to the Iona lineup after missing 12 games with a broken foot. Against Monmouth in the MAAC Championship semifinal, Williams set a new single-game tournament record for three-point field goals with nine. Williams' journey, from the street violence that surrounded him in his neighborhood growing up, to Iona was recently featured in the Newark Star-Ledger.
