Kurz and Raynor with Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. – Marist College freshman Rudolf Kurz is the MAAC Men’s Tennis Player of Year. The MAAC Women’s Player of the Week is Quinnipiac senior Jacqueline Raynor.
Marist College Freshman Rudolf Kurz went an impressive 2-0 in the Red Foxes only match of the week. He teamed up with sophomore Dylan Fletcher to capture a win at number two doubles. The freshman from Austria then went on to win his singles match in the number two spot, defeating Radford’s Michiel Meekers, 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Kurz and the Red foxes take the next two weeks off before starting conference play against Fairfield on March 28.
Jacqueline Raynor, a senior from Quinnipiac University, had one of her best weeks of the season for the Bobcats, winning three singles matches all at the number two spot. It was headlined by her 145th career victory which moves her into third place in Quinnipiac women’s tennis history. Raynor is now 24-12 on this season and leads the team in wins.
The 2015 MAAC Tennis Championships will be held on April 25 and 26 at the Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ.
