WASHINGTON, D.C. - Senior midfielder Mike Begley (Brookeville, Md.) was added to  the 2015 Tewaaraton Award Men’s Watch List, the Tewaaraton Foundation announced Thursday.

The first round of additions to the watch list for the Tewaaraton Award included 10 other Division I players. Players can be added to the watch list as the season progresses, but do not necessarily have to be included on the list to become a nominee.

The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States and symbolizes lacrosse’s centuries-old roots in Native American heritage. The selection committees are comprised of premier collegiate coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation.

A second round of watch lists additions, if applicable, will be announced April 9. Five men’s and five women’s finalists will be announced May 7 and invited to the May 28 award ceremony at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of the American Indian.

Begley is tied for the team leads in assists (six) and points (17). Through Marist's first six games of the 2015 season, he is the only Red Fox to tally double-digit goals and ground balls, notching 11 and 15 respectively.
