Perrier, Frye, Litzell and Pohl Earn Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J.- Greg Perrier from Manhattan College is the MAAC Men's Track Performer of the Week. The MAAC Women's Track Performer of the Week is Kate Frye from Monmouth University. Love Litzell of Manhattan College is the MAAC Men’s Field Performer of the Week, while Charlene Pohl of Manhattan College earned the MAAC Women’s Field Performer of the Week
Perrier won the 800 meters at the season-opening Hurricane Invitational in Miami on Saturday. He posted a personal-best time of 1:50.09 to finish first in a field of 22 that included Olympic medalist Bershawn Jackson.
Kate Frye qualified for ECAC’s in the 400 hurdles at this weekend’s Wake Forest Open, finishing third in 1:02.41. She also finished fifth in the 400, running it in 56.51 seconds.
Litzell set the meet and facility record while taking first in the hammer throw at the UTSA Team Challenge on Friday. His personal-best mark of 66.33 meters (217 feet, seven inches) was the No. 5 effort in the NCAA so far this season. It also qualified him for the IC4A Championships and NCAA East Preliminary Round, as well as the European Under-23 Championships.
Pohl set meet and facility records in the heptathlon at the UTSA Team Challenge. She qualified for the ECAC Championships with her score of 4736 points. Sitting in second place after four events, Pohl opened day two with a personal-best mark of 5.94 meters (19 feet, six inches) in the long jump. With that effort, which bettered the ECAC qualifying standard, she took over first place.
The 2015 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held May 2-3 at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N.J.
