Sydney Underhill, Monmouth, Softball, Pitcher, So., Temecula, Calif.

Underhill has been one of Monmouth’s most consistent athletes since stepping on campus as a freshman last year. She pitched in all 43 games for the Hawks, becoming the only pitcher in the country to appear in every one of her team’s games last season. She was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team after posting an 18-15 record with a 3.18 ERA and 137 strikeouts in 222.1 innings pitched. This season, her consecutive games pitched streak extended to 54 and she’s now appeared in 70 of the Hawks’ 71 games since the beginning of last season. She’s picked up two wins and two saves in a team-high 51 innings pitched so far in 2015.

Thomas Rodrigues, Niagara, Baseball, Infielder, Sr., Pierrefonds, QC

Thomas Rodrigues returned from missing a year due to injury and has played in all 20 games so far this season. He is second on the team with a .328 batting average and a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen bases. He started all 54 games at shortstop as a junior and finished fifth on the team with 19 RBIs. As a sophomore, Rodrigues was only one of two Purple Eagles to start in all 48 games during the 2012 season. He batted .266 in 169 at-bats with two homers and 20 RBI. He saw action in 30 games as a freshman. He was fourth on the team with 28 assists and fielded three double plays.
