Dupree, Nesi, Bernstein, and Lombardo Earn MAAC Track and Field Awards

EDISON, N.J.- Ahmier Dupree from Monmouth University is the MAAC Men's Track Performer of the Week. The MAAC Women's Track Performer of the Week is Nicki Nesi from Marist College. Taylor Bernstein of Monmouth University is the MAAC Men’s Field Performer of the Week, while Stephanie Lombardo of Rider University earned the MAAC Women’s Field Performer of the Week.
Dupree won the 100 meter dash at the Monmouth Season Opener on Saturday, finishing in 10.85 seconds. He also nabbed first in the 200, finishing in 21.88 seconds to help the Monmouth men claim first on the afternoon.
Junior Nicki Nesi won the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday in the Marist women’s track & field team’s first event of the outdoor season at the Monmouth Season Opener. Nesi posted a time of 11:17.72, as she took first place by over 37 seconds.
Bernstein threw a 157’ discus to take second at the Monmouth Season Opener on Saturday before topping that with a first place shot put with a mark of 55’7”. His performances helped the Hawks to a team victory at the meet.
Lombardo won the shot put at the Lafayette 7 way with a distance of 13.22m. She also won in the discus with a distance of 43.32.
The 2015 MAAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships will be held May 2-3 at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, N.J.
