Alejandro Gomez Estrada & Jacqueline Raynor Earn Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. – Monmouth University freshman Alejandro Gomez Estrada is the MAAC Men’s Tennis Player of Year. The MAAC Women’s Player of the Week is Quinnipiac University senior Jacqueline Raynor.
Alejandro Gomez Estrada is the reigning MAAC Men’s Tennis Player of the Week. In the Hawks match against Hofstra, he was able to capture two victories. Gomez Estrada gave Monmouth their third-straight shutout when he took down Niko Vulinovich 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. The rookie was also able to capture an 8-2 doubles victory playing alongside junior Ramy Bekhiet at No. 2 doubles.
Jacqueline Raynor went 4-0 this past week, earning two victories in both singles and doubles play. In the Bobcats win over Niagara, Raynor playing at No. 2 singles defeated Ashley Ta 6-2, 6-2. The senior tallied her 30th win of the season when she won in straight sets against St. Bonaventure’s Marisa Brossard.
The 2015 MAAC Tennis Championships will be held on April 25 and 26 at the Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ.
