Seeds set for 2015 MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship

EDISON, N.J. – The seeds are now set for the 2015 Women’s Lacrosse Championship with the regular season concluding yesterday.

Monmouth University (11-5, 6-2) will be the number three seed in the championship and will host the number six seed, Niagara University (6-10, 3-5), in the first round of the championship on Saturday, April 25 at 11:00 a.m. at Kessler Field in West Long Branch, New Jersey. The Hawks defeated the Purple Eagles, 12-7, in the regular season meeting between the teams on March 25 at Niagara.

Siena College (10-7, 5-3) has clinched the number four seed in the championship and will host the number five seed, Marist College (7-8, 3-5), on Saturday, April 25 at 3:00 p.m. in Loudonville, New York on Siena Turf Field. The Saints edged Marist, 9-8, in Poughkeepsie, New York on April 15 in the only meeting of the season between the teams.

Canisius College (11-5, 8-0) will be the top overall seed in the championship. The Griffs will have a first round bye and will host the semifinal and final rounds on May 1 and 3 at the Demske Sports Complex in Buffalo, New York. Canisisus will face the lowest advancing seed of the first round in the first semifinal contest. Fairfield University (12-4, 7-1) also received a first round bye in the championship and will be the number two seed. The Stags will take on the highest advancing seed from the first round in the second semifinal matchup on Friday, May 1.

All contests during the 2015 Women’s Lacrosse Championship will be broadcast live on MAAC.TV.

The winner of the 2015 MAAC Women’s Lacrosse Championship earns the league’s automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse Championship. The NCAA Division I selection announcement will take place on Sunday, May 3 at 9:00 p.m. on NCAA.com.
