Wagner and Marist Stay Put in Latest CWPA Poll

EDISON, N.J.- The Wagner women's water polo team was ranked 19th, receiving 10 points, in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) National Top 20 Poll, while Marist women's water polo team received 4 points to round out the poll.

The Seahawks are entering this weekend’s 2015 MAAC Water Polo Championship as the number 2 overall seed with an 23-8 (10-2) mark. They are led by junior Jess Lundgren who leads the league in points with 165 and is second in the MAAC with 109 goals.

The Red Foxes enter the 2015 MAAC Water Polo Championship as the number one overall seed with an 19-13 (11-1) record. They are led by sophomore Amanda Amorosa who leads the team in goals (83) and assists (47).

The 2015 MAAC Water Polo Championship will be held this Saturday, April 25 at McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, New York. The first semifinal contest begins at 12:00 p.m. features Wagner College facing number three seed Iona College (21-14, 7-5). The second semifinal matchup of the day features Marist College taking on the four seed Villanova University (19-14, 7-5) at 2:00 p.m. The championship consolation game will take place on Sunday, April 26 at 12:00 p.m. and will be followed by the title contest at 2:00 p.m.
