Marist Set To Play #5 TCU In NCAA Tournament

EDISION, N.J. – The 2015 MAAC Men’s Tennis Champion, Marist College (15-7), will face off against the No. 5 overall seed TCU (21-7) in the first round of the 2015 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Championship, it announced Tuesday. The Red Foxes will face the Horned Frogs on Friday, May 8 at 2 p.m. (EDT) at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth, Texas. 

This is the Red Foxes' 12th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, and seventh in the past eight years. The Red Foxes finished this season 6-1 in MAAC play.

Marist won their third consecutive MAAC title by defeating the Monmouth Hawks, 4-2 in the 2015 MAAC Men's Tennis Championship at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, N.J. Marist’s Rudy Kurz, who was named the 2015 MAAC Rookie of the Year, was named the 2015 MAAC Men's Tennis Championship Most Outstanding Performer. He went 1-1 at No. 3 doubles this weekend and 4-1 at No. 2 singles winning the championship clinching set.

The winner of the Marist-TCU match will advance to the Second Round to play the winner Tulsa and N.C. State.
