Nikki Barba, Quinnipiac, Softball, First Baseman, Sr., San Diego, Calif.
In three games this week, senior Nikki Barba batted .625 off five hits in eight at bats. In a loss to Sacred Heart, the first baseman finished 1-for-3. On Saturday, Barba went 4-for-5 in a doubleheader against Monmouth. In the first game, she recorded three of the four Bobcat hits in a 3-for-3 performance. Barba reached base three times in the second game, going 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored. The senior now leads Quinnipiac with a .440 average and a slugging percentage of .630.
Nick Richter, Rider, Baseball, Third Base, Sr., Fox River Grove, Ill.
Richter is a Business Administration major with a grade point average of 3.938. Richter came to Rider last year from McHenry Junior College in Illinois and led all of Division I in stolen bases and stolen bases per game. Richter set a new Rider record, a record that stood since 1967, with 41 stolen bases to be an NCAA Champion. Richter collected 61 hits and 41 runs scored last year and was named the Bronc MVP. In 2014 Richter batted .356 against MAAC pitchers and earned All-MAAC honors as well as MAAC All-Academic team honors. Richter began the 2015 season with 21 hits in the first 23 games, including five doubles and leads the team in runs scored.
