Ambrosio & Velasquez with Weekly Awards

EDISON, N.J. –Quinnipiac University senior Eric Ambrosio is the MAAC Men’s Tennis Player of Week. The MAAC Women’s Player of the Week is Niagara University sophomore Paulina Velasquez.
Eric Ambrosio won all four of his matches this past week, helping the Bobcats acquire two big wins. In his singles match against Sacred Heart he took down Mathieu Pilote 6-3, 6-2 at the number 2 spot. Playing at number 3 singles, Ambrosio defeated Fairfield’s George Tioutine 6-3, 6-1.
Paulina Velasquez went undefeated this past week, to help Purple Eagles earn two victories in MAAC play. The Queens, N.Y. native, playing at number 3 singles, defeated Monmouth’s Farrah Smoke in straight sets. Velasquez then went on to take down Rider’s Michelle Caravaglio 6-1, 6-1, playing again at number 3 singles.
The 2015 MAAC Tennis Championships will be held on April 25 and 26 at the Mercer County Park Tennis Center in West Windsor, NJ.
