Wagner and Marist Receive Points in Latest CWPA Poll

EDISON, N.J.- The Wagner women's water polo team was ranked 19th in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) National Top 20 Poll, while Marist women's water polo team received 1 point to round out the poll.

The Seahawks retain the ranking after going 2-0 over the weekend with victories over Villanova and Siena.

On the weekend the Red Foxes went 2-0 with wins over St. Francis and a sudden death victory over Iona.

Wagner and Marist have both been one of the top water polo teams in the nation. Wagner began the year receiving votes in the preseason poll. After falling out of the poll the first 3 weeks of the season, the Seahawks have been steady in the poll receiving points the last nine weeks. The Red Foxes received points in five consecutive weeks (weeks 2-7), before falling out of the poll in week eight. Since, Marist has received votes in the last three weeks.

The 2015 MAAC Water Polo Championship will be held on April 25-26 at McCann Natatorium in Poughkeepsie, New York.
