Carrie-Jo Farrugia, Niagara, Women’s Lacrosse, Sr., Attack, Jordan-Elbridge, N.Y.

Farrugia headlined the offensive core for the Purple Eagles, turning in a career season with a career-high in goals (36) while adding 13 assists for 49 points.  Her 36 goals scored in 18 games puts her in eighth place on Niagara's Single Season Goals list.  Farrugia cracked the 100 career goals during the season, finishing her senior year with 103 career goals which placed her third on Niagara's Career Goals list. Her 56 helpers also placed her third on Niagara's Career Assists list while she finished third with on NU's Career Points list with 159 career points.  The Jordan-Elbridge, N.Y. native also contributed 15 groundballs, seven caused turnovers and won 33 draw controls this season. Farrugia’s All-MAAC first team honor is the first time a Purple Eagle has received the award since 2005. She also made the All-Academic Team for the third year in a row.
 

Ben Gibson, Quinnipiac, Baseball, Fr., Infielder, Sagamore Beach, Mass.

Ben Gibson paced Quinnipiac’s offense on Sunday afternoon, belting two homeruns in a crucial 9-7 win over Rider University. Gibson doubled his season home run total with his two long balls against the Broncs in powering Quinnipiac to a big conference win. Gibson reached base six times throughout the three-game set, walking three times and picking up a hit in the doubleheader Saturday. He went 3-for-8 in the series with two runs scored and two RBI.
