WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.-  Monmouth senior RHP T.J. Hunt (Wyckoff, N.J./Ramapo) has been named as a Louisville Slugger National Player of the Week by The Collegiate Baseball News after throwing a no-hitter against Saint Peter’s on Saturday.

Hunt threw a no-hitter on Saturday afternoon, the first for MU since current Baltimore Orioles pitcher Brad Brach threw one for the Hawks in 2007. Hunt struck out five and walked just two, getting four 1-2-3 innings in the process. It took him just 90 pitches, facing 23 batters in the outing.

The right-hander has now thrown five complete games this year, including three in a row, and has completed every home start he has made this season. He is eighth nationally and second in the conference in complete games with five, and ranks 33rd in career complete games among active pitchers.

Hunt and the Hawks return to the diamond on Thursday at noon for the first game of three with Rider in a critical conference series.
