2015 MAAC Rowing Championships Set to Kick off on Sunday

EDISON, N.J. – The 2015 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Rowing Championships will commence on Sunday, May 17 at Mercer Lake in West Windsor, N.J. The championships’ events will showcase more than 300 competitors from 4 MAAC institutions and 5 associate members.
The Jacksonville women’s rowing team will be looking take home their second team first place trophy in as many years. At the 2014 MAAC Rowing Championship, the Dolphins tallied 45 points to best second place Marist by 8 points to earn the MAAC automatic qualifier into the NCAA Rowing Championships. Jacksonville's 2nd Varsity 8 and Varsity 8 boats claimed first place in their respective races to help take home the trophy.
The Marist men's rowing team will be looking to repeat as MAAC champions for the 14th consecutive year. Last year, the Red Foxes edged out Jacksonville by 4 points to earn another MAAC Rowing Championship trophy. Marist's Varsity 8 and 2nd Varsity 8 boats captured first place in their respective races to help win the hardware.
On Sunday, the first heat race will begin at 9:10 AM, while the first championship race will start at 1:20 PM. Entry into the championships is free.
