Five MAAC Student-Athletes Received USILA Post Season Awards

Edison, N.J. – Five MAAC student-athletes received post season awards following the conclusion of the season from the USILA, United States Inside Lacrosse Association. Three schools were represented with athletes receiving All-American Scholar awards, selections to the North-South game and All-American honorable mentions.
Two MAAC athletes were named Scholar All-Americans by the USILA. Marist College’s senior goalkeeper Dave Scarcello and Quinnipiac University defender Carmen French. Scarcello was named the 2015 MAAC Championship Most Outstanding Player and French was announced as a 2015 All-MAAC First Team selection.
French, along with Marist’s senior long stick midfielder Patrick Eaker were named to the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/LaxWorld North team in the North/South Games while Monmouth senior goalkeeper Garrett Conaway was named to the South team. Eaker, a three-time MAAC Long Stick Midfielder of the Year, led the Red Foxes with 18 caused turnovers and was third on the team with 47 ground balls. French posted career highs in ground balls with 32, caused turnovers with 21, and starts in a season with 15 for the Bobcats. Conaway led the nation with a .614 save percentage and was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Year.
Two Red Foxes, Eaker and senior teammate, All-MAAC First Team midfielder Mike Begley, were named by the USILA All-American honorable mentions. Begley finished his career, as member of the 2015 Tewaaraton Award Watch List and surpassed 100 career points this season. He scooped up 63 ground balls and totaled 43 points.
