POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Marist men’s lacrosse team has finished the 2015 season nationally ranked in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll.
The Red Foxes are ranked 19th in the poll, which was released on Friday. In the previous Cascade/Maverik Poll, which was released prior to the NCAA Tournament, Marist was tied with Army West Point at 19th. The final ranking of 19th is believed to be the highest of any program in school history.
Marist was also ranked 20th in the final United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Coaches’ Poll, which was released prior to the start of the NCAA Tournament.
Marist went 14-4 in the 2015 season, and won its third conference championship and second MAAC championship in program history. The program won its first NCAA Tournament game in its history with a 10-6 triumph over Bryant in a First Four contest on May 6.
Following the season, senior midfielder Mike Begley and senior long stick midfielder Patrick Eaker were named USILA Honorable Mention All-Americans, Eaker was selected to play in the USILA North-South Game, and senior goalie Dave Scarcello was named a USILA Scholar All-American.
