Edison, N.J. – The 2015 MAAC champion Marist men’s lacrosse team (13-3, 6-0 MAAC) will go up against the Northeast Conference Champion Bryant Bulldogs in an NCAA Tournament preliminary game at 7 p.m. tonight in Tenney Stadium. This evening will mark the first time Marist has hosted an NCAA playoff contest. This is the first meeting between the Red Foxes and Bulldogs.

Marist earned its first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title since 2005 when it defeated Quinnipiac, 16-14, on May 2 in Tenney Stadium. The two teams combined for the most goals scored in a MAAC Championship final. Four Red Foxes posted hat tricks in the contest including sophomore J.D. Recor, who racked up a game-high six points.

For the first time this season, the team cracked the top 20 rankings in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association and Cascade/Maverik Media polls. The rankings were the final of the season for the USILA and the last media poll until after the NCAA Championship game.

The Red Foxes had received votes in both polls throughout the season but earned 10 points to jump into the USILA national rankings. Marist tied Army with 27 points for a spot in the media poll, which is voted on by more than 25 members of the lacrosse media representing markets across the country.

The winner of tonight’s game advances to play at no. 2 Syracuse (12-2, 2-2 ACC) at 7 p.m. May 10 in the Carrier Dome.

Tickets for the game can be purchased online or at the box office located in McCann Center.
