EDISON, N.J. – After nine years of service at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), Associate Commissioner/Championships, Marshall Foley, has accepted a position as the Associate Athletics Director at Oakland University. Foley will act as Championship Director for the 2015 MAAC Rowing Championships before leaving the conference office.
“Marshall Foley has been a tremendous asset to the MAAC over the course of almost 10 years of service,” notes MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “It has been rewarding to see him advance his career within the league from his time at Canisius and the University of Alaska, and I wish him much success as he returns to a campus environment at Oakland University. The student-athletes and coaches at Oakland are fortunate to have him join the program.”
Foley arrived at the MAAC in January of 2006, beginning as the league’s Director of Championships & Special Events. He was promoted to Assistant Commissioner for Championships in June of 2006, and became the Associate Commissioner two years later. Prior to joining the MAAC, Foley served as Associate Athletic Director for Internal Affairs at Canisius College in Buffalo, New York.
At Oakland, Foley will provide direction and oversight of the athletics program and operations as a member of the department’s executive leadership team; including business management, sport supervision, facilities, equipment, and sports performance.
