Sidaras Earns ECAC Division I All-Star Second Team Honors

DANBURY, CONN. – Junior Chelsey Sidaras from the Fairfield University women’s lacrosse team was named to the ECAC Division I Women’s Lacrosse All-Star Second Team which was announced Tuesday afternoon. Sidaras is the first Stag in program history to receive the honor.

Sidaras earned her first ECAC All-Star Second Team honor and her first IWLCA All-Northeast Region Second Team honor after manning the net for the Stags in 18 of 19 games this season, with 18 starts. She finished the season ranked third in save percentage (.510) and ranked seventh in goals-against average (7.30). She was a fixture in the defensive unit, picking up a second-highest 34 ground balls and causing eight turnovers. Sidaras faced 323 shots this season and recorded 130 saves in 1026:52 of action which earned her a second consecutive All-MAAC First Team accolade. She currently holds Fairfield’s single-season record for goals-against average, and ranks second this year with 7.30. In Fairfield’s career charts, Sidaras ranks third in wins (26), fourth in games played (45), and ranks fifth in saves (269), minutes played (2,205:26) and games started (36). Sidaras recorded eight saves in the 2015 MAAC Championship contest and earned the championship Most Valuable Player and All-Championship Team honors. She was also a MAAC All-Academic Team selection. In the Stags’ second program NCAA Tournament appearance, Sidaras recorded seven saves against No. 11 Princeton.
