EDISON, NJ – Jordan Confessore has been promoted to Assistant Commissioner for Women’s Basketball at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, announced by MAAC Commissioner, Richard J. Ensor.

“Jordan Confessore’s promotion to Assistant Commissioner for Women’s Basketball is a recognition of her significant contributions to the MAAC membership, particularly her efforts to advance the sport of women’s basketball in the conference,” notes MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor. “Her leadership and improvement of the MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship at the Times Union Center lead to its best ever tournament attendance in 2015 which was viewed nationwide on ESPNU. In addition, she served as Tournament Manager of the 2015 NCAA Women’s Basketball Regional in Albany, which had the second highest attendance in the country. Her coordination of these events and the relationship building with the MAAC coaches lead to the decision to promote her to Assistant Commissioner.”

As the Assistant Commissioner, Confessore will be responsible for developing the MAAC women’s basketball schedule and the planning and operations of the MAAC Women’s Basketball Championship. Additionally, she will assist in the development of in-season and championship policies and administration agreements for women’s basketball, assist with new media operations and marketing initiatives for women’s basketball, and assists with NCAA Championship event hosting.

"Jordan has done an outstanding job during her tenure with the MAAC and she is very deserving of this promotion,” said Tim Murray, Marist College Director of Athletics and chair of the women’s basketball committee. “She has shown strong leadership working with our league coaches and her work as Tournament Manager for the 2015 Regional was exceptional. I am looking forward to her continued work with the MAAC and women’s basketball nationally."

Confessore was named the Director of Women's Basketball Operations in August of 2012. She joined the MAAC staff after serving as an Account Executive/Group Sales Manager at the Gazelle Group. In that role she acted as an on-site company representative, working with coaches, student-athletes, and administrators, for various Division I college basketball tournaments.

Confessore holds a Bachelor of Science from the School of Sports Management and Media at Ithaca College, where she was a four-year women’s basketball player. She also served as a Women in Sports Careers Executive Board Member.
