Connor Panas Honored as Academic All-American

EDISON, N.J. – Utility man Connor Panas of the Canisius College baseball team, the 2014 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Player of the Year, and 2015 All-MAAC First Team utility selection has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Baseball First Team. This is the second consecutive year that Panas has been honored with Academic All-America® honors.
A unanimous choice as an All-MAAC First Team selection, he led the league in hitting for the second consecutive year finishing with a .379 batting average, scoring 65 runs, recording 91 hits and driving in 67 RBI. Panas also slugged 34 extra base hits including 17 doubles, seven triples and 10 home runs while reaching base on walks 31 times, supporting his .476 on-base percentage. In addition, he started all 62 games for the Griffs as the team made their way to their second NCAA Tournament appearance in three years.
In 2014, Panas was honored as a Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Baseball Second Team member, but was moved up to the first team after the 2015 season. Panas is the fifth player in Golden Griffins history to be named to the Capital One Academic All-America® Division I Baseball Team, and he is the third player to receive first team honors and the second to receive honors multiple times.
