Lahey, Millington & Riede Named MAAC Volleyball Weekly Award Winners

Player of the Week

Kelsey Lahey – Marist

Sr., OH, 5-10, Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green

Kelsey Lahey was named the most valuable player in the Volley In The Valley Tournament, which Marist hosted Friday and Saturday. She kicked off the weekend with a double-double, posting 17 kills and 14 digs in a five-set win over Bryant on Friday. She had a pair of service aces and five block assists in a sweep of La Salle on Saturday, then slammed a match-high 15 kills alongside seven digs and five total blocks in a 3-1 win against Bucknell later that night. Against Hudson Valley rival Army on Sept. 9, Lahey posted eight kills, a season-high five service aces and 11 digs. In the four Marist victories, she compiled 49 kills for a .247 hitting percentage and 40 digs.

Libero of the Week

Lexi Millington – Marist

Jr., LIB, 5-9, Manhattan Beach, CA/Mira Costa

Lexi Millington averaged 5.06 digs per set and 0.75 service aces per set in four wins for Marist this week. She had two service aces and 19 digs in a 3-2 victory over Bryant on Friday to open the Volley In The Valley Tournament. In a sweep of La Salle on Saturday she had six service aces and followed up with seven assists and 23 digs against Bucknell to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team. She picked up a match-high 22 digs in a four-set win over Hudson Valley rival Army on Sept. 9

Rookie of the Week

Hailey Riede – Rider

Jr., RS, 6-2, Haworth, NJ,/Northern Valley-Demarest

Hailey Riede averaged 2.93 kills per set as Rider split four matches this past week. In a MAAC contest against Iona, Riede had nine kills and three block. In Rider’s win over Morgan State, Riede hit .300 with 13 kills and four blocks. For the week, Riede had 44 kills and 11 blocks, with a .311 attack percentage and was named to the all-tournament team at the seventh annual Maddie Bingaman Memorial Invitational, hosted by Maryland Baltimore County.
