Offensive Player of the Week

Michelle Federico, Quinnipiac

So., F, 5-6, Cheshire, Conn./Cheshire

Michelle Federico registered five points in two games this week with two goals and an assist. Against No. 19 Michigan State, Federico had a hand in both of Quinnipiac’s goals in a 3-2 loss. She assisted freshman Selina Reichert on her first career goal before scoring her second goal of the year later in the game. Federico currently leads Quinnipiac in points (6), goals (2), assists (2), shots (8) and shot percentage (.250).

Defensive Player of the Week

Angie King, Quinnipiac

Jr., MF, 5-8, South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor

Angie King was dominant over the weekend, recording three defensive saves in two games while also picking up an assist. Against No. 19 Michigan State, King assisted Michelle Federico on the Bobcats’ second goal of the game while also recording a personal single-game high of two defensive saves. Against Lafayette, King ran her streak to five consecutive games with a defensive save. To date, she has six defensive saves this season (one shy of the Quinnipiac single-season record set by Cate Collucci in 2013) and 11 for her career (also, one shy of Collucci’s career record of 12).

 

Rookie of the Week

Selina Reichert, Quinnipiac 

Fr., MF, 5-3, Lower Hutt, New Zealand/University of Auckland 

New Zealand native and Bobcat rookie, Selina Reichert had her fourth start with Quinnipiac against No. 19 Michigan State this weekend. In a tough 3-2 loss against the Spartans and with an assist from forward Michelle Federico, Reichert put the Bobcats on the board with her first career goal in the 16th minute of the first period. Reichert also had her fifth career start in a 2-1 loss against Lafayette.
