Men’s Runner of the Week:
Shane Beyer, Manhattan
Senior, Brick, N.J. / Brick Memorial
Senior Shane Beyer was Manhattan’s top finisher at the Brother Jasper Season Opener on Friday at Van Cortlandt Park. Beyer completed the 6000-meter course in 19:58.4 to place 27th overall.
Women’s Runner of the Week:
Rachel Lehnert, Monmouth
Freshman, Fair Haven, NJ / Rumson-Fair Haven
Freshman Rachel Lehnert continued her strong start to her career at Monmouth and significantly aided the Monmouth cross country team at the 21st Annual Monmouth Invitational. Rachel lived locally all her life and when she ran the 5k (3.1 miles) in 18:56.2, good for a fourth place finish, for the second-straight week, Lehnert set a Monmouth rookie record for her efforts.
