Angie King and Lexi Millington Named Corvias ECAC Players of the Week

EDISON, NJ – Two Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) student-athletes were named Corvias ECAC Players of the Week for the week ending on September 13. Angie King, Quinnipiac University, was named the Corvias ECAC Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week and Lexi Millington, Marist University, was named the Corvias ECAC Libero of the Week.
Angie King was dominant over the weekend, recording three defensive saves in two games while also picking up an assist. Against No. 19 Michigan State, King assisted Michelle Federico on the Bobcats’ second goal of the game while also recording a personal single-game high of two defensive saves. Against Lafayette, King ran her streak to five-consecutive games with a defensive save. To date, she has six defensive saves this season and 11 for her career.
Lexi Millington averaged 5.06 digs per set and 0.75 service aces per set in four wins for Marist this week. She had two service aces and 19 digs in a 3-2 victory over Bryant on Friday to open the Volley in the Valley Tournament. In a sweep of La Salle on Saturday she had six service aces and followed up with seven assists and 23 digs against Bucknell to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team. She picked up a match-high 22 digs in a four-set win over Hudson Valley-rival Army on Sept. 9.
