The National Soccer Coaches Association of America annually recognizes college and high school soccer programs that have excelled in the classroom, in addition to their work on the field.

A total of 859 soccer teams (305 men, 554 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA College Team Academic Award for the 2014-15 academic year.

Of that total, 208 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.

Rider University was one of the 208 to have both the men’s and women’s soccer teams receive the award.

“It's a great honor to have both of our soccer teams receive the NSCAA team academic awards,” said Rider associate athletic director Greg Busch, who oversees academic support as well as both soccer teams. “This recognition speaks to the extent to which both of our soccer coaches preach performing well academically in additional to performing well on the playing field.  The coaches and student-athletes of our soccer teams should all be proud of this well-deserved achievement.”
