Mara Wager Named MAAC Women's Lacrosse Officials Assignor

EDISON, NJ – Mara Wager has been named the women’s lacrosse officials assignor for the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), announced by the league today.
Wager currently serves as the America East and Big 10 Coordinator of Women’s Lacrosse officials, and is the ABOWLO Collegiate and High School Assignor of Women’s Lacrosse officials. She has served on the U.S. Lacrosse International Umpire Committee since 2010. Wager has been a member of the Collegiate Women’s Lacrosse Officiating Association since 2014.
“With nearly two decades of umpire experience, Mara Wager’s qualifications both as an umpire and assignor made her the right choice for the MAAC, said Dan Petrino, MAAC Assistant Commissioner of Championships. “Mara’s time at the collegiate and international levels will benefit the conference’s coaches and student-athletes significantly in the recruitment and evaluation of officials.”
Wager’s term as assignor will begin immediately. Her duties will include the assignment of officials for all MAAC women’s lacrosse games and all home contests of MAAC institutions, in addition to all post-season MAAC women’s lacrosse contests. Wager will manage the recruitment and evaluation of conference women’s lacrosse officials.

Officials play an integral role in facilitating the competitive experience for the student- athlete. I look forward to working alongside a dedicated group of coaches and athletic administrators to contribute to the long standing tradition of academic excellence and athletic competition of the MAAC.”
In addition to her experience at the collegiate level, Wager has international umpiring experience, working as a technical delegate at the FIL U19 World Championships in Scotland. She has also served as a World Cup umpire in Canada, as well as umpiring at the North American Challenge Cup.
Wager has been a member of the Federation of International Lacrosse since 2000, and a member of both the US Lacrosse and Adirondack Board of Women’s Lacrosse Officials since 1990.
