EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) schedule continues into the final week of September as teams look ahead to the final month of the regular season as the MAAC Championships draw closer.

Iona and preseason favorite Monmouth are currently leading the MAAC men’s soccer standings with identical records of 5-3-1, 1-0 MAAC. Marist, Saint Peter’s and Siena all recorded their first conference wins last weekend.  There are ten men’s soccer matchups this week, five on Wednesday, September 30 and five on Saturday, October 3. On Wednesday, September 30 the matchups include:

·         Siena versus Niagara at 3:00 p.m.

·         Saint Peter’s versus Rider at 3:00 p.m.

·         Marist versus Canisius at 4:00 p.m.

·         Manhattan versus Fairfield at 7:00 p.m.

·         Monmouth versus Rider at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3

The matchups on Saturday, October 3 are:

·         Iona versus Rider at 1:00 p.m.

·         Niagara versus Quinnipiac at 1:00 p.m.

·         Marist versus Saint Peter’s at 2:00 p.m.

·         Monmouth versus Siena at 7:00 p.m.

·         Fairfield versus Canisius at 7:00 p.m.

As September comes to an end, Rider University has a perfect 4-0 record in MAAC volleyball play. Manhattan, Siena and Canisus all hold 3-1 MAAC records. This week there is one lone game during the week on Wednesday, September 30 as Saint Peter’s hosts the New Jersey Institute of Technology at 7:00 p.m. There are nine conference games over the weekend beginning on Saturday, October 3 with the following contests:

·         Niagara versus Siena at 1:00 p.m.

·         Canisius versus Marist at 1:00 p.m.

·         Quinnipiac versus Rider at 1:00 p.m.

·         Fairfield versus Saint Peter’s at 1:00 p.m.

·         Iona versus Manhattan at 3:00 p.m.

On Sunday, October 4 there are four MAAC volleyball games:

·         Quinnipiac versus Saint Peter’s at 1:00 p.m.

·         Fairfield versus Rider at 1:00 p.m.

·         Canisius versus Siena at 1:00 p.m.

·         Niagara versus Marist at 1:00 p.m.

Three schools, Monmouth, Manhattan and Niagara all have perfect 2-0 MAAC records for women’s soccer as the calendar turns to October. The Hawks are in first with a 6-1-2 overall record. There are 10 games on the docket for this week for the ladies with five games on Wednesday, September 30 and five games on Saturday, October 3. The schedule for Wednesday, September 30 includes:

·         Iona versus Monmouth at 3:00 p.m.

·         Niagara versus Siena at 4:00 p.m.

·         Canisius versus Marist at 4:00 p.m.

·         Rider versus Saint Peter’s at 7:00 p.m.

·         Fairfield versus Manhattan at 7:00 p.m.

On Saturday, October 3 the matchups are:

Saint Peter’s versus Marist at noon

·         Quinnipiac versus Niagara at 1:00 p.m.

·         Rider versus Iona at 1:00 p.m.

·         Siena versus Monmouth at 1:00 p.m.

·         Canisius versus Fairfield at 7:00 p.m.

Rider currently leads the MAAC field hockey standings with a 7-2 record. Conference play for field hockey begins next week on Friday, October 9. The final week of non-conference play starts this week with six games on Friday, October 2 and four games on Sunday, October 4. Notable matchups on Friday, October 2 include:

·         Sacred Heart at Hofstra at 3:00 p.m.

·         Monmouth at Syracuse at 4:00 p.m.

·         Quinnipiac at Penn State at 6:00 p.m.

·         Bryant at Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m.

The schedule for Sunday October 4 is:

·         Rider at Drexel at noon

·         Siena at Lehigh at noon

·         Monmouth at La Salle at 1:00 p.m.

·         Fairfield at Harvard at 2:00 p.m.

On the track this week, Canisius, Fairfield, Iona, Marist, Niagara, Quinnipiac, Rider and Siena are all competing in the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University on Friday, October 2 at 10:45 a.m. Monmouth is competing in the Princeton Inter-Regional on Saturday, October 3 at 10:45 a.m. and Saint Peter’s is competing in the Technology XC Challenge on Saturday, October 3 at 11 a.m.
