Wilson Offensive Player of the Week

Junior Rosero – Siena

Jr., F, 6-0, West Islip, NY/ Stony Brook (St. John the Baptist)

Rosero totaled five points on two goals and an assist in a pair of ties for the Saints last week against America East frontrunners Hartford and New Hampshire. On Tuesday, September 1st, he netted the game-tying goal in the 83rd minute to rally Siena late to earn a 1-1 tie against the America East Preseason co-favorite Hawks. On Saturday, September 5th, he posted a multi-point performance with a goal and an assist as the Saints tied a red-hot Wildcats squad which had won its first two matches.

David Pastuna - Rider

Jr., GK, 6-0, Robbinsville, NJ/ Robbinsville

The junior goalkeeper had a strong performance in the net for the Broncs this past week. Pastuna recorded 7 saves for Rider in a week which they went 2-0. He notched the shutout against Saint Joseph’s in the Broncs 4-0 win. Pastuna had a .054 goals against average in the two contests. Against the Seton Hall Pirates, he had three big saves to preserve Rider’s 2-1 win over their New Jersey rivals.

Wilson Rookie of the Week

Jalil Blalock – Monmouth

Fr., F, 5-7, Elizabeth, NJ/ Elizabeth

Blalock scored his first two collegiate goals, including the game winner, in the Hawks’ 5-0 win over Howard on Sunday. Blalock and John Egan were in sync in the 27th minute as Blalock cut to an Egan thru ball ahead of the back to beat Howard goalkeeper Sam Howard one-on-one inside the right post for his first-career goal. In the 69th minute, Blalock made the Bison pay for a bad clearance, volleying the ball out of mid-air from 20 yards out inside the right post for his second goal of the game.
