Player of the Week

Tori Jarosz, Marist

6Sr., C, 6-3, Cortlandt Manor, NY/Lakeland

Tori Jarosz led the Red Foxes to a big week as the team went 3-0 in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play with wins against Manhattan, Iona, and Monmouth. In Jarosz’s first game of the week against Manhattan she scored a career high 27 points and tied a career high in rebounds with 17 while also swatting a game high six shots as the Red Foxes took down the Jaspers, 79-73. In the Red Foxes rematch with Iona, who had just defeated Marist a week prior, Jarosz led the Red Foxes with 24 points on 10-for-13 shooting to go along with 13 rebounds, good for her 12th double-double of the year and helped hand the Gaels their first MAAC loss of the season. In the Red Foxes final game of the week, Jarosz led the way as the team avenged another loss from earlier in the season, this time against Monmouth. Jarosz notched her 13th double-double of the season, scoring 21 points on 7-for-16 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds and blocking three shots in 31 minutes of action as Marist defeated Monmouth, 78-55.

Rookie of the Week

Aryn McClure, Quinnipiac

Fr., G/F, 5-11, Springfield Gardens, NY/Archbishop Molloy

Aryn McClure led all MAAC freshmen in scoring as she averaged 14 points while leading the Bobcats to a Western NY road weekend sweep of Niagara (61-54) and Canisius (80-68) for the third straight season. McClure added 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.5 blocks and 1.0 steals in 27 minutes per game for the week. McClure started her week with a solid nine points and seven rebounds in 24 minutes as she helped lead Quinnipiac past Niagara on Friday. She followed that up with a dominating showing at Canisius, going for a career-high 19 points on 8-of-19 shooting and 3-of-4 at the free throw line. McClure added eight rebounds and a career-high eight assists to go along with two blocks, two steals and just one turnover in 30 minutes. The eight assists for McClure rank as the second-most in a single-game for a Quinnipiac freshman in the school’s Div. I history (since 1998-99) while also representing the most for any Bobcat in a single-game this season. McClure’s dominating performance against the Golden Griffins helped inspire a come-from-behind win as she either scored or assisted on 23-of-31 points over the course of 11:33 for the Bobcats in the third and fourth quarter to help seal the 12-point win over Canisius.
